Introduction
Target Tracker for iPhone/iPod devices was developed by Double-Alpha Academy. Double-Alpha Academy’s main activity is action shooting (IPSC) but recently it part- nered with World Class Prone shooter Guy Starik to en- ter the Olympic Shooting sector. With the valuable in- put of Guy, Double-Alpha Academy has developed the most advanced ISSF training tool for Apple devices.
The first version of the application was launched back in January 2011. Now, the second version consists of over 15 different new features and upgrades which truly make this application a must have for any serious ISSF shooter.

The Target Tracker is a unique application for your iphone/ipod which provides you with a powerful train- ing aid for your ISSF Olympic shooting training, match and finals sessions. The application utilizes the touch screen features of the iPhone, allowing you to record the position of each shot as it is fired dur- ing your practice session or match. It also keeps track of the time elapsed between shots, and helps you analyze this time to show what speed of shooting produces your best results. You can select from several shooting disciplines, including 10m Air Rifle, 10m Air Pistol, 50m Rifle and Standard pistol 25 and 50m, and 300m Rifle. Each discipline records the shots on the correct target design and shot size.
Sighters, Match and Finals
Same as in real matches, the user first records Sighter shots, as many as needed. Sighter ses- sions are marked with a white stripe at the upper right corner. Sighters are not taken into account for final score but their elapsed time is added to the match overall time. To proceed to match targets, press the small target icon at the top of the screen.
Once on a match target, all shots are recorded along with the shot time and overall time. You can also make notes for each shot in the form of free text, as- sign different shot color and add wind flags to indicate wind conditions for each individual shot. All of this is of course recorded and can be exported for in-depth performance analysis. Press the small target icon once again to switch to Finals-Sighters and again to move to Finals. When finished, press the Done button.
Coaches – note the stop watch icon. This allows you to accurately record the actual time your shooter spent on each shot from getting ready to breaking the shot.
Record, Review and Analyze
You can review your practice on the device, replaying the shots one by one, or showing them in groups of 5,10,20 or all, and you can easily export by email, which in- cludes lists as well as graphic pictures of the shots fired.
The newly improved Summary screen is split into three sections: Match, Finals and Shot History. The Match section displays the total elapsed time, av- erage shot time, shot count, score and sets. The Fi- nals section displays similar data excluding sets.
The combined score of Match and Finals are added up together if Finals have been recorded.
Scroll up and down the shot history to view each shot. Any comments like free text, wind flags or shot color change added during the session will be displayed here.
Newly Added Features
Top 10 upgrades:
- Shot Numbering: shot numbers are added for each shot recorded and displayed a little to the side as not to be covered by the shots.
- Wind Flags: indicate different wind conditions. The information is saved and can be exported later. – Shot Deletion: it is possible now to move back to any shot previously recorded and delete it.
- Shot Lock: a lock icon is present at the bottom right. Press to unlock and modify a shot.
- Coach Stopwatch: coaches can now accurately time their shooter from making ready to fire.
- Mean Point of Impact: active MPI has been added. It updates itself after each shot recorded.
- Statistics: a couple of reports have been added. Choose between Time and Shot Spread analysis. – Language Sets: English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian and Hungarian
- Sighters: Sighters have been added to both Match and Finals.
- Finals: 10 shot Finals have been added to the application and
